Wimbledon 2014

Whilst the FIFA World Cup continued BMCUK deployed it’s services in support of the BBC’s coverage of “The Championship” at Wimbledon.  This year, a record number of live streams were required for the BBC’s Red button services.

BMCUK provided the BBC with fully diverse fibre circuits between the All England Lawn Tennis AELTC in Wimbledon and the BBC’s HQ at Broadcasting House.  Using this infrastructure we delivered the following services;

• Eighteen HD video contribution circuits
• Two reverse HD video contribution circuits
• Eighteen high quality intercom circuits
• 50Mb/s of dedicated IP connectivity

Using almost 4Gb/s of capacity and at the height of this summer’s operation BMC were delivering more temporary video and audio services into the BBC than any other single, independent company has ever done before.
